Adoption Fees
The Humane Society for Southwest Washington frequently runs adoption promotions on cats, dogs or both. However, we cannot predict when adoption promotions will occur as shelter population, seasons, holidays and other important factors determine them. Some pets are subject to premium pet pricing depending on their age, breed and demand for their adoptability. Get a head start by filling out an adoption questionnaire and bringing it to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. Adoption fees are subject to change. Please check with an Adoption Counselor for current adoption pricing.

Adoption Holds
For a fee of $15.00, potential adopters can place a 24-hour hold on an animal they wish to adopt. The hold fee is not refundable, but is a donation to help with the care of the animals.  Holds are only placed on animals if you have an application on file and have already socialized with the animal.  A credit card is required for holds placed over the phone.

Military Discount
We honor our active military and veteran personnel by offering a 25% discount on adoption fees, which may not be combined with any other promotional offers. We also offer a 10% discount on retail items in our shelter store.  Thank you for your service to country and community!

Premium Pricing
Pet adoption pricing is often increased to “Premium Pricing” for pets that are an in-demand breed, size or age. Pricing for individual pets are posted on each of their kennels, so please inquire in person to confirm the availability and adoption fee associated with a particular animal.
