Pet Facilitated Therapy (PFT)

Pet Facilitated Therapy (PFT) is a visitation program designed to provide social, mental and physical stimulation to people through the use of temperament-tested animals. The program allows individuals and families in difficult circumstances to enjoy the healing presence of animals are a safe and therapeutic setting. PFT enhances and promotes healing, encourages interactions and facilitates communication. PFT volunteers visit schools, nursing homes, retirement communities, summer camps, day cares, hospice centers, hospitals and local library branches.
