Collection and Maintenance of Information

The types of donor information that the Humane Society for Southwest Washington collects and maintains are as follows:

• Contact information: name, address, telephone number and email address
• Giving history
• Information on events attended, publications received and special requests for program information
• Information provided by the donor in the form of comments and suggestions
• Information learned in conversations and/or press clippings that are relevant to the organizational programs and departments

The Humane Society uses donors information to better understand how the donors interests match the organization's mission and to communicate organization’s plans, activities and updates. Information is shared with staff, board members, volunteers, and constituents only on a “need to know basis."

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization which relies on donations to fund its vital programs. The Humane Society for Southwest Washington receives no funding from the Humane Society for the United States. We rely on donations from our community. All funds donated to HSSW stay in our community.
