*Out of an abundance of caution, all tours have been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community.*
Tours are a great way to learn more about your local animal shelter. Groups visit both public and non-public areas of our 30,000 square-foot facility and (of course) have a chance to say hello to the animals. Tours are provided at no cost, donations are appreciated.
Please review the information below to learn more about community tours.
Tours are approximately 45 minutes and include public spaces as well as non-public areas like our clinic, backyard, and more! Groups will learn about the operations and programs of HSSW and have an opportunity to greet adoptable animals in our care.
Tours are available on a limited basis, 12:30-4:30. Availability varies and is dependent on group size and time of day.
Groups must consist of at least 5 individuals and may be no larger than 15. Larger groups may be required to schedule separate tours. We require a ratio of 1 adult for every 4 children under 16*.
*Note: for the safety of participants as well as our animals, ratio may be increased (1 to 1) for groups with children under age 6 or those with developmental delays or disabilities.
